Why I started the Digital Experience School?

Eli Adams

If you want to know who I am on a deeper level, you are more than welcome to check out my personal bio at, TheRealEliAdams.com. For now, how about I just tell you why I decided to start the Digital Experience Academy?

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been a dreamer. I’ve always felt like I had a bigger purpose in life, but have struggled to figure out what that purpose is. I have dabbled in a number of ventures and worked for a variety of companies, giving me a range of experiences that I never would have gotten otherwise.

    • I’ve worked for a mushroom farm, I’ve worked at a lumber yard, I’ve done physical labor like lawn mowing and yard work, I’ve helped out on cattle farms, I’ve been an executive assistant, I’ve worked as a waiter, and I’ve done door-to-door sales.
    • I’ve managed a tire department, a bakery department, and a meat cutting and packing department. I’ve managed a group of cashiers, I’ve managed the receiving department, and been an operations manager at multiple retail chains.
    • I’ve been on the digital product side of things as well as the digital marketing side of things. I’ve worked for a call center, I’ve worked for a SaaS company, I’ve worked in, and for multiple Direct Sales (MLM) companies, and I’ve worked for multiple Direct to Consumer companies.
    • I’ve worked for start-ups, for publicly traded, and for large privately held companies. I’ve worked as a solo employee as well as managed both small and large teams.
    • I’ve started multiple companies of my own, I still own some of them, I’ve sold some of them, and I have also gone through the pain of shutting some of them down.
    • I’ve managed budgets of over $22 million and been in control of large P&Ls as well.
    • I’ve worked both locally as well as internationally. I’ve managed growth efforts in 80+ countries in 17 different languages.

Throughout all of these different jobs, the one thing that I know for sure brings me joy is when I’m able to help others overcome obstacles, allowing them to see a higher purpose in themselves.

One area I have been able to serve others recently is by helping them find work after being let go from their jobs. The mass layoffs have impacted millions of people and every single one of them could use help.

Over the last few years, I’ve had a lot of close friends impacted by the RIFs (Reduction In Force), so I made it my mission to help them, and as many others as I could, land on their feet. I have a decent network on LinkedIn, so I decided to use it as a tool to help those looking for work.

Over this last year I’ve audited resumes, jumped on Zoom calls to practice interviews, I’ve done my best to connect people with others in my network to help get their foot in the door at specific companies, and even started a small fundraiser during the holidays to help lighten the financial burden.

Most of my network wanted to help but didn’t know how. Allowing them to donate to this cause gave them the opportunity to do so. We ended up raising about $5,000 and were able to give $100 to about 50 different families. I know that $100 doesn’t seem like much to a lot of people, but for some, it was enough to buy more insulin for their daughter. For others, it was just enough to pay the car payment. And for most, it allowed them to put a few presents under the Christmas tree.

One person with a small network can only help so much though. There is simply no way I could help the millions in need in the same way that I have been helping over this past year.

I needed to find a way to duplicate myself.

I needed to find a way to help more people.

After realizing that $100 was making such a big difference for so many people, it just clicked. Why not teach people how to make money online using the “specific set of skills” I’ve learned over the years?

And that is where the Digital Experience Academy was born!

My hope is that by using the courses I offer on the DX Academy, you can #TakeBackControl of your destiny. If you ever get laid off again in the future, you will at least have an income to fall back on. It may not solve all of your problems, but it will for sure solve some of them.
